Vetle is the son of Tor og Freia. Vetle’s tail gives him the magical ability to find knurlings, a very special type of mushroom that is only found in and around Trollhufsa. Knurlings are used for everything from troll medicine to building materials, and are therefore very important for the trolls’ daily life. Vetle’s best friend in the whole wide world is little Tyra, who often accompanies Vetle when he is hunting for knurlings. Tyra’s magical ability is that she can change the color of objects, a type of magic which she likes to subject knurlings to. This is why there are many trolls who believe that knurlings come in all of the colors of the rainbow, although in fact they are only red. |
